PVB film guide
PVB (Polyvinyl Butyral) film is a polymer-based interlayer material used between two or more layers of glass in laminated glass production. It provides strong adhesion between glass layers and enhances the safety, durability, and overall performance of laminated glass.
PVB film helps hold glass fragments together in the event of breakage, reducing the risk of injury. It also improves the impact resistance of laminated glass, contributes to UV protection, and can enhance sound insulation depending on the product formulation..
PVB film is widely used in the automotive and architectural glass industries. Common applications include automotive windshields, building façades, glass railings, partitions, and various laminated safety glass applications.
Automotive PVB films are developed to meet the optical quality, adhesion, and safety requirements of vehicle glazing. Architectural PVB films are designed for various building and construction applications, with properties tailored to specific structural and performance requirements. The appropriate type of PVB film should be selected according to the intended application and relevant technical standards.
Point PVB offers PVB films in thicknesses of 0.38 mm, 0.76 mm, 1.14 mm and 1.52 mm. The appropriate thickness is determined based on the intended application and technical requirements of the laminated glass.
